TRAVEL ARRANGEMENT CHECK LIST

Here is a checklist to follow when you make a reservation or collect your tickets:

Check your bookings/tickets/vouchers etc immediately you receive them.
Check that your passport is current for at least six months and the name on your passport is the same as the name on your ticket.
Check all visas and re-entry permits are correct and valid.
Check vaccination and health requirements, as well as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prevention with your Doctor or the Moss Vale Medical Centre (02 4868 1500). Steps to prevent DVT on longhaul flights include drinking plenty of water and doing ankle and knee exercises while seated in the aircraft. Support stockings are recommended.
Check that you have travel insurance. If you decide, against our advice, not to take travel insurance, then we will ask you to sign a disclaimer indemnifying Moss Vale Travel against any losses, injuries or damage. We strongly recommend that all travellers take appropriate travel insurance.
Check that you have a photocopy of your airline tickets, visas, and important pages of your passport in case these documents are lost. Carry a photocopy of credit cards separately.
Please advise us if you require Travellers Cheques or Visa Travelmoney Cards. We recommend that two people travelling together carry traveller’s cheques/visa travelmoney cards separately to cover in the event of loss.
If essential medication is used while travelling, carry a photocopy of the Doctor’s prescription to enable it to be replaced en route if necessary.
Check that you have advised Moss Vale Travel your Frequent Flyer details and any special requirements (meals/seating etc.). Please keep all itineraries, boarding passes and passenger coupons of your tickets to check against your statement and for accounting/taxation purposes (fees apply if copies required). We are unable to provide copies of tickets for frequent flyer purposes. Please confirm your Frequent Flyer details are entered when you check in for all flights - particularly important when you are travelling on member airline flights.
International Driving Licences are highly recommended in countries where English is not the first language. Licences can be obtained from the NRMA.
All sharp or metal objects, ie pen knives/scissors/knitting needles must be packed in checked baggage. They cannot be carried in your cabin baggage as they will be confiscated.
Check if and when you need to reconfirm your flight and travel arrangements during your journey. It is however important to check your flight is departing as scheduled.
Some departure taxes are already on your ticket. Additional taxes may apply on departure. Please check local currency amounts.
Check the dates and your travel arrangements carefully. Remember, Moss Vale Travel charges cancellation fees on all bookings. These cancellation charges are recommended and endorsed by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has advised all travelling Australians to enter their personal details through the website www.dfat.gov.au/travel. This website is continually updated and can be viewed to gain information on current world affairs. For further travel advice and visa information, go to the Department’s website www.smartraveller.gov.au.

While we make every effort to ensure details and descriptions are correct when we are preparing your tickets and documents, please understand that subsequent changes can occur. For example, airlines and tour operators may change a schedule or itinerary, either prior to departure or during travel, because of weather conditions or mechanical failure, or many other reasons.

Sometimes airlines and hotels overbook, because their experience tells them that all booked persons do not always appear for their flights or hotel rooms. We at Moss Vale Travel will take every precaution to try to protect your interest should such a change or over-booking occur, but these circumstances are outside our control. If you need to make a claim for changes to your schedule or over-booking, the claim can be made only to the airline or hotel concerned.
